Last month

It's been cold here & the mob of kangaroos that live in the scrub area behind where I work have been right down the hill lately, resulting in some rather dramatic picture opportunities. Note the huge shoulders on the one right next to the car park.

And we temporarily put the smallest collar available onto Angel tonight. It hung down around the top of her legs!

A couple of weeks later & Angel has grown, but still not enough to put her collar on yet. I went for my usual cruise in the bus today & on my return, we put the spare coffee & sugar in there, in preparation for our overnight stay near Parliament House on the night of the KAZ Ball later this month. For a laugh, we put Angel into a pocket at the back of one of the seats. She blended in so well that it's hard to tell where she finishes & the sheepskin cover starts.

Last weekend, I caught up with the Tannahills & our trip in the bus towards Murrumbateman got sidetracked early & we ended up at Gooromon Park, a horse riding place with a very nice cafe onsite. And of course, the Tannahills knew the chef Robyn, who is the daughter of one of their long term friends. Small town, this one. Anyway, I let Kelly out for a pee while we were there & he rolled in some kangaroo poo. About 3 days later, Julie could smell something sweet & very strong in the vicinity of where she sits in the evenings. We thought it might be that Kelly had sprayed a territorial marking near there, until she actually sniffed HIM. He & I had a shower shortly afterwards.

This weekend, I went out to the highway (to Sydney) to the nearest service station that has enough pressure in the tyre pump to get up to the 100 psi that the bus tyres need. Even that took a couple of goes, because I had to wait for the compressor to catch up. Meanwhile, we're both just plugging away at work, Angel is growing & Kelly is jealous.

Last weekend, we went to the movies to see Harry Potter & use up the free voucher that I had won through my active participation in the annual very busy period at the IT Service Desk earlier this year. We were just getting out of the car when Julie burped & of course said "Excuse Me". Now here, when someone says "Excuse Me", it means "Hey, I want to talk to you." & there just happened to be a family walking past who were then quite convinced that she wanted to say something to them. She of course not understanding the significance, explained that she had just burped & they walked away shaking their heads. The looks on their faces was something else. Ah, the cultural differences!

Last night was the Annual KAZ Ball, this year being held in the Great Hall of Parliament House. It being a great a great opportunity to get seriously drunk on free booze, we took the bus down there & parked it in a car park just 200 metres down the hill from the front door. So when they threw us out at about midnight, we simply staggered down the road & slept it off. Is was a cold night (fortunately not REALLY freezing) & we would have been quite warm under the 4 blankets on the bed, had I not being getting up regularly to pee (alcohol & an enlarged prostate don't mix terribly well). Lesson: Make the bed properly. Amazingly, we actually slept in until 8:30 & by the time we had brewed a coffee & got ourselves moving, there were already visitors arriving at the House. Needless to say, today has been a very slow day.
